Juan Pablo Episodes 8 and 9: Eees OK, Eees Fine

Hello, Readers.  Happy Texas Independence Day.

Let me address the large Mexican Army in the room.  It's apparent that I haven't written about my two favorite episodes just yet.  I have a mountain of material from the Home Towns and Fantasy Dates.  However, those of you in my line of work will understand the nature of the work and the urgency that often arises.  The commitment required is one of complete focus.  In short, it's been one of those weeks and, believe me, I regret not having the opportunity to write just as much as you regret not having the opportunity to summarily ditch your work obligations for half an hour while you chuckle like a child into your computer screens.

I am committed to writing tonight and a post will be up late tonight for you to enjoy on your Monday.  Sorry for the delay.

Joseph Heller wrote in Catch-22, "The Texan turned out to be good-natured, generous and likable.  In three days no one could stand him."

I'd imagine your feelings toward me are about the same at this point.  I promise not to disappoint.

Enjoy your Sunday.  We'll talk soon.  Eees OK.  Eees Fine.

  1. When did Texas secede from the Union? Is Ted Cruz your new President? You can be as independent as you want to be. Do you want Justin Bieber, too (I offered him to my Canadian friends after they won the gold medal in hockey in the Olympics but they declined my "gift").

    1. Texas declared independence from Mexico in 1836. Ted Cruz was still Canadian back then. And as far as I can tell, the Miami Department of Criminal Justice may be taking in Bieber any day now. DP

  2. Last I looked Justin belongs to Canada, obviously your friends don't want him either!
Happy Sunday Some Guy, will you be writing during the Oscars???????

    1. I'll gladly be writing during the Oscars. I despise awards shows; particularly the biggest awards show of them all. DP

  3. Cannot wait to hear what you have to say about Claire's family...she stuck out like a sore thumb! And your thoughts on Andi...I thought she was being a little ridiculous.

And I love and can absolutely relate to your quote from catch 22.
    - A Texan girl living in London, totally wishing she was hungover from drinking too many Lonestars at the rodeo cook-off in Houston.

BTW They had Texas night here at my local pub last summer and were selling Lonestars for 10 bucks a pint. I was outraged.

    1. I don't know what's more offensive: the price or the fact that they didn't serve it in a bottle. DP

  4. Oh good! I have been thoroughly enjoying your take on the show, as well as Ihategreenbeans' posts, and I've been looking forward to hearing your take on the ridiculousness times 2 that were last week's episodes. The recaps are always better than the show, and I really need a humor break.

  6. My favorite lines:

"She accidentally hit the nail on the head when she said “this is ridiculous.”

Laura—the sister who will inevitably contest mom’s Will and be the first one over at the house trolling through her jewelry box after her mother dies—goes absolutely crazy.

We assume he washed off all traces of Clare with that blue water she keeps her combs and scissors in."

I agree with your assessment of Andi. Didn't see her bringing up politics, religion or social issues before this, and I absolutely HATE when the girls go into "Poor me. I gave up so much to be here."

Do you think one of the things that has sort of blinded viewers and ABC is the fact that JP has a daughter? I don't think any of us have wanted to believe someone with a little girl would be such a pig.

It is interesting how little I remember about the episodes already. Thanks for the laughs!
