Bachelor Ben Episode 10: I Just Can't Do It

Hello, Readers.  Far be it from me to disappoint; HOWEVER, I just can't do it this week.  I tried no less than 5 times to make it through the Women Tell All (Read: Bitch about everything) Episode and just couldn't do it.

I cannot accurately put into words the level of frustration I felt during the first 20:57 seconds of the show listening to the women argue, insult each other, talk over everyone, and generally complain.  There was nothing interesting or entertaining about any of it, especially the part about the wash up contestants groping each other in various clubs across the country.

The "Stop" button finally got pushed (hard) when Miss Pacific Palisades and her crooked eyes and silver eye shadow began chattering like a magpie about whatever it was she felt the need to chatter about.

I'm sad to say that I will not be recapping this episode.  I'm certain you're disappointed, and for that I'm sorry.  However, I'm also certain that beneath the disappointment is a tiny part of all of you that understands.

On a positive note, I'll have the latest DP Tells All (Part IV) up before the Bachelor Final Episode.  Thank you all for your questions.  Please enjoy this picture of me contemplating the answers to your questions while gazing admiringly at my beloved Austin, Texas.  This little spot is about a half mile from my home and I usually head up there a few times a year to remind myself why I'm lucky to live in Austin.

Have a wonderful day.  In the meantime, if you need me, I'll be complaining loudly in order to make meaningless points.  DP

  1. Interesting week. Reality Steve posted a recap of the Women Tell All, but snipped at readers for bugging him with too many questions. You, on the other hand, did not post a recap but asked for questions (though of a different sort). I have yet to find a good recap of the Women Tell All anywhere on the internet. That says something.

  2. Anon -
Lincee Ray @ http://www.ihategreenbeans.com/ will have a Women Tell All recap tomorrow with full behind-the-scenes action since she got to attend the taping of the show. Check her out if you want a good recap in DP's place! :)

DP - I understand totally why you couldn't get through this week. I half-watched the show in disgust. The only "joy" was watching Courtney break down in tears and even that was a bit fakey-fake. Can wait for DP Tells All!

  3. Some guy, I totally get you. I turned it off too. I can't stand Ben and his hair so hearing the women cut on each other was just mean and meaningless since we, the viewers, don't believe any of the women love him. He is bland, followed by heaping dose of really bland.

  4. Some Guy, trust me, we understand completely! I could barely manage getting through it myself. It's the first time that I have honestly had to force myself to watch it and this season can't be over soon enough!!! It's painful in so many ways....and your blog is the only thing that makes it worth watching at all at this point. And with that said - you deserved a break this week so don't feel too guilty about no re-cap. We get it!

  5. I understand completely! I will never comprehend why women feel the need to attack each other in such a way. There are enough issues that we all deal with each day without adding such petty things to the list. It is human nature to simply look at someone or see their actions and make some kind of judgement. These women did far more than that in my opinion. They were cruel and spiteful over things that in the end don't matter.

Love the picture. Austin is a beautiful place. That spot looks like it would be very serene so it's clear why you would visit when you could. I look forward to DP Tells All!

  6. Actually, DP, I fell asleep right after Ben came on, so don't know what happened. A large part of me must have been bored stiff.

In fact, I won't go looking for blogs today. Yours is the most interesting one. Looking forward to next week when Ben decides not to become a yodeler in the Swiss Alps but a p**** whipped guy who most likely picked Courtney.

You're the son I should have had.

  7. You're all very sweet. However, I will admit that the first time anyone has disowned her child in favor of me. I'm touched...and we all know how much I love to be touched. DP

  8. I feel you not watching. I did watch the whole thing just to laugh at the craziness. Then again, I wait about 30-40 before watching so I can FF through the boring parts.

  9. DP, while watching the show I wondered if you would be able to get through it and write a recap. It was awful, I hate to see women be so catty and mean to each other. It was hard to understand what anyone was saying because they kept talking over each other. My favorite moment was when Nana's granddaughter said Miss Pacific Palisades was like a Chiwawa because she kept yapping and wouldn't shut up.
When Ben came out and said to CH "Welcome to my nightmare" it was pretty accurate.
So glad this season is almost over, it's been bad and boring.

  10. Did you watch it long enough to see Brittany tell Samantha shut up? It was the best part of the night. I highly recommend going back and watching it up to at least that part. lol

  11. I sort of had a feeling you just might not have it in you to recap this one! The only thing that struck me was that I wasn't sure if it was Miss Pacific Palisades or Cheri Oteri on SNL spoofing Miss Pacific Palisades. Looking forward to DP Tells All.

    Have a great week,

  13. You do a really good job. I do wonder how many more seasons you will be able to blog about the bachelor/bachelorette. The show is definitely going for drama over romance and the mechanics of it are getting tiring. Good luck toughing out your further viewing. I hope you last as long as the show does.

PS. I'm shocked that you missed Courtney working over Ben's junk in the hot tub barrel scene from last week. You can clearly see her arm moving in funny ways while she tries to play it off.

    1. I thought so too. Plus the expression on his face. None of the blogs I read mentioned that.

  14. Bravo to you! I didnt watch either. Enjoy your blog, especially because you continue to comment on my friend Brad. Say Hi! if you see Brad or Jason and enjoy SXSW this weekend.

See you next week after this season is over.

  15. I'm with everyone else...I totally feel you on this and am not disappointed at all! What a bore that episode was.

I do have to say that I thought Blakely looked ravishing. Maybe it was the waves in her hair. She made such a good point when she mentioned Courtney calling her a stripper but bringing up the fact that Courtney was the one who took off all her clothes in front of America.

Oh, and I loved Emily's little purple dress!

  16. Ravishing? Blakeley looked like a drag queen.

  17. Dang it, you're supposed to watch this crap so I don't have to! Oh well...something tells me my life will not be deprived by not knowing what happened on this season's Women Tell All.

Looking foward to DP Tells All!

  18. The ONLY thing you missed was OHCH actually laughing a real genuin laugh when the chihuahua comment was made. It was nice to see him laugh.

  19. Shoot! I was really looking forward to your take on whether Courtney's apologies seemed genuine.

Hope you enjoy your week off!

  20. Don't blame you one bit for not suffering through that mess. What a goat rope! It was very sad to see such horrible behavior for the most part and the lack of any indignation over what transpired between Ben and Courtney. Unless the editing left that out it's hard to imagine nobody bringing up the skinny dipping. There was probably less than an ounce of self esteem among all the women the way they whined.
There was a great link on Lincee's column comments to an LA Times article about things said between a producer and Courtney -obviously all the emotion was faked. Gee, what a surprise.

  22. 360 bridge...Great picture. How I miss Austin! I always make a point to drive that area when I am in town. Thanks for sharing and for being smart to not watch that episode. It, like Ben's hair/clothes, was awful!

    Have a great weekend!

  23. I have to say, unlike everyone else, that i'm dissapointed you didn't watch the debacle unfold! I missed your humorous remarks. It seems every season ends with this sad show of bickering & silliness, so why not continue to entertain us with your comments? Look forward to what you have to say next!

  24. One of my favorite spots in Austin. It's where I had a memorable first--and last--date.
